Return & Refund Policy

       Imperial Beach Technology Corp: Customer Return & Refund Policy

1. Purpose and Scope

This Return & Refund Policy governs all product and service transactions conducted with Imperial Beach Technology Corp (“IBT,” “we,” “our,” or “the Company”). By placing an order with us whether for hardware, software, networking equipment, or professional IT services the customer (“you” or “the client”) acknowledges and accepts the terms outlined herein.

As a technology-focused organization, IBT specializes in precision-configured computing systems, advanced networking hardware, and professional digital services. Due to the custom nature of our work and our reliance on manufacturer-specific licensing and component supply chains, most transactions are non-refundable and final upon purchase.

  

2. General Return Policy

  1. All sales are final unless the product is defective, damaged in transit, or incorrectly fulfilled due to an internal IBT error.
  2. Products that have been opened, installed, activated, or used are not eligible for return.
  3. Software, activation keys, and  downloadable products are non-refundable once an activation code or  download link has been issued.
  4. Custom-built systems (desktops,  servers, or configured devices) are non-returnable once component procurement or assembly has begun.
  5. Network equipment, routers, and modems that have been registered or configured with a customer’s account  or IP address cannot be resold and are therefore non-returnable.
  6. All returns require prior authorization (RMA). Unauthorized returns will be refused and shipped back at the customer’s expense.

  

3. Exceptions for Defective or Damaged Items

We will review return or refund requests only under the following conditions:


  1. The product arrived physically damaged due to shipping carrier mishandling.
  2. The incorrect item was shipped in error by IBT.
  3. The product was verified defective upon arrival and reported within five (5) business days of receipt.


If one of the above applies:


  • Customer must email within 5 business days of delivery.
  • The claim must include photographic or video evidence of the issue.
  • IBT will provide a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) if the claim qualifies.
  • Upon inspection, IBT will determine whether to issue a replacement, repair, store credit, or refund at the company’s discretion.
  • All returns must include original packaging, serial numbers, and accessories to qualify for processing.

  

4. Shipping and Responsibility


  • Customers are responsible for safe packaging and shipment of return items unless IBT provides a prepaid label.
  • IBT is not liable for returns lost or damaged during transit.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
  • If IBT provides a return label, and the item is later found to be non-defective, shipping costs will be deducted from any applicable credit.

  

5. Refunds, Store Credit, and Processing Time


  • Approved refunds are typically issued within 10 business days after inspection.
  • Refunds are credited to the original method of payment.
  • In some cases, IBT may issue store credit instead of a refund, especially for discontinued or special-order items.
  • Partial refunds may be granted  for missing parts or packaging damage, at IBT’s sole discretion.

  

6. Change-of-Mind, Delivery, and Non-Qualifying Refunds


Refunds will not be issued for any of the following reasons:


  1. The customer changed their mind after placing an order.
  2. The customer expected faster delivery than the standard 3–5 business day window.
  3. The customer refused delivery, provided an incorrect address, or failed to collect the item.
  4. The customer purchased elsewhere and no longer wants their IBT order.
  5. Delays caused by carriers, supply shortages, customs, or weather beyond our control.


IBT fulfills orders promptly under standard business conditions but cannot guarantee delivery dates once items are with third-party carriers.

  

7. Service-Based Transactions and Diagnostic Fees

  1. All service fees, diagnostics, and labor charges are non-refundable, even if the customer elects not to  proceed after evaluation.
  2. Once service work has begun such  as network configuration, system imaging, or data recovery the order is final and billable in full.
  3. Component orders initiated for repair or upgrade are non-cancellable once placed with the supplier.


IBT’s diagnostic process represents the labor and expertise required to identify issues accurately, regardless of whether the repair proceeds.

  

8. Manufacturer and Third-Party Warranties


If a product is covered under a manufacturer’s warranty, IBT will assist customers in filing claims directly with the manufacturer.
Warranty approval, repair timelines, and replacement decisions are made exclusively by the manufacturer, not IBT.

Customers are responsible for retaining original invoices, serial numbers, and packaging for warranty validation.

  

9. Restocking Fees

When a return is approved outside of standard defect or damage policies, a 20% restocking fee will apply.
This covers administrative handling, testing, repackaging, and vendor processing.
Shipping and handling fees remain non-refundable.

  

10. Communication, Documentation, and Fairness

Imperial Beach Technology maintains clear communication with all clients.
All requests must be submitted in writing via email to maintain a verifiable record of interaction.


IBT reserves the right to decline or void refund claims if:


  • The request lacks documentation or proof of issue.
  • The product has been altered, misused, or damaged after delivery.
  • False or fraudulent claims are suspected.


Any abusive or defamatory communications toward staff will void any ongoing or pending return request.

  

11. Legal Compliance and Consumer Rights

This policy complies with California Commercial Code §2601–2611 regarding tender of delivery and buyer’s right of rejection, as well as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) consumer protection guidelines.
Nothing in this document limits a customer’s rights under applicable state or federal law.

Disputes will be governed by the laws of the State of California, and any legal proceedings shall be held in San Diego County, California.

  

12. Policy Updates

Imperial Beach Technology reserves the right to amend or revise this policy at any time without prior notice.
The version in effect at the time of purchase governs all transactions.

  

13. Acknowledgment

By placing an order or authorizing service through Imperial Beach Technology Corp, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Return & Refund Policy in full.
